Starting from a love of photography, Andy Hayes launched this site in early 2008 to create a place which wasn’t like other typical travel websites. A site which explored the world of travel from the viewpoint of experiences (“experiential travel“) and spoke to the needs of your average person – you know, the ones that don’t want to travel around the world, that only have a few weeks of vacation a year, maybe even just two, so every travel experience they take has to count.

Our goal is to be the regular traveller’s number one source for travel information and inspiration.

The choice of travel magazines and websites is astounding, particularly online. I won’t claim that we’re biggest, or even the best. I can only hope that here, you’ll find the most “authentic” community of genuine folks just looking to have a great travel experience. That’s exactly what I’d want from a website called Sharing Travel Experiences.”

Sharing Travel Experiences publishes new travel articles every weekday and a popular email travel newsletter. Subscriptions are also available via RSS, twice-weekly email, and Kindle, which explains our rapid growth over the past two years.
