Been Fired? Laid Off? Made Redundant? You should read this…

January 12, 2009by Andy Hayes

So the world is falling into global economic meltdown. Headlines of ‘crisis’, ‘disaster’, and the dreaded words of “recession” and “depression” fill newspapers worldwide. But I’m here to tell you not all is lost – and in fact if you’ve been fired, laid off, or made redundant, there is still hope.

Now is the perfect time to go on that trip you’ve always wanted to do and never had the time. Worried about the cash? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered – Intrepid Travel is offering those with proof of their redundancy 15% off their small group adventures in a laid off, take off special. From the website:

We realise that some people see being laid off as an opportunity to take a career break, reassess where they are at and see the world. By offering this discount we hope to make this opportunity a reality for them

FlyBe is also offering refunds for those who lose their jobs and have been with their employer at least two years, as reported by the Telegraph.

Lastly, Gadling is reporting that a Dubai hotel is offering free meals to those who have been made redundant. Buffet-style. Yum.
