The World’s Most Beautiful Vineyards
There are few things that bridge gaps between cultures more than a good glass of wine. And vineyards are a featured highlight in many countries – they’re always on my travel itineraries. Here are a few of the best choices for some of the world’s most beautiful vineyards.
Chateau Potelle, Napa Valley, California
Napa Valley isn’t my favourite wine region really, but the most beautiful vineyard in the world (in my opinion) can be found here. The vineyard, Chateau Potelle, is tucked away hidden on a hill away from the main road. The winery produces a number of different types of wines and in fact is probably the most delicious wine in Napa as well. This is a must-see in vineyard: friendly owners, a beautiful picnic spot, and amazing wine. What’s not to like?

Everyone (well, almost everyone) loves dessert. From tart and savoury to sweet and creamy, the best desserts come in all shapes and sizes. Valentine’s Day in the Sweetest Place on Earth

There must be a gene for chocolate addiction. As a confirmed second-generation chocoholic on my father’s side, I am incapable of missing a daily fix. I remember my father, well into his 70’s, solemnly claiming he could give up his hallmark cigars and his pre-dinner scotch, but never his chocolate. I totally agree. My chocolate dependency is so bad that when my travels take me to places with a questionable supply of chocolate, I pack my own.

The 8 Best Places To Sip Champagne
Champagne, lovely Champagne! One of my favourite subjects to research, to discuss and to write about. What would the world be without Champagne? A wedding toast, a graduation, a Valentine’s Day, or the birth of a baby simply wouldn’t be the same without it. The sound of a cork popping exuberantly out of it’s bottle sounds almost as if it’s excited you’re about to taste the delicate liquid it’s been protecting with such care. Each time I have a sip, I’m reminded of my favourite Champagne quote:
“Come quickly, I am drinking the stars!”
Dom Perignon (1638-1715)

Monsoon Sweets
We spent my tenth birthday in Calcutta, as it was then called, visiting our sprawling extended family. My brother and I spent the long summer days sitting under the slow-moving fans, reading Archie comics over and over again, while waiting for my cousins to come home from school. Nearly every hour, my mother announced in irritation, “power cut,” as the fan haltingly stopped and the lights flickered and died. We ignored the grown-ups as they chastised the corruption and inefficiency of the Bengali government, instead, placidly reaching for the wooden fans that littered the tables and laying on the granite floor to soak the coolness into our bodies. Before long, my long braid sprung into loose frizz that clung to my neck and my newly acquired glasses slipped off my wet nose.

Beer
I‘d like to say I am writing this article just so I could flaunt all the rules and have a single world subject: beer. How cool is that? I could have easily have said “8 great places in the world to have a cold glass” but “beer” is a little more fun, don’t you think? It got your attention anyway.
I felt a bit sorry for beer – wine has been the subject of so many posts, from Livermore Valley to Rioja to the interview with my wonderful penpal Nat. So let’s check out a few great places that not only serve up good ale and lager but are also the perfect backdrop for enjoying them. § Read the rest of this entry…
