Inspiring Travel Monthly Roundup – May Edition
Hello and welcome to to the May edition of the Inspiring Travel Monthly Roundup. I’m not sure we could beat last month’s “boots and beaches” edition, but we’ll certainly try.
We had a remarkable drop in submissions this month – likely because I worked with my ISP block delivery of some of the spammy stuff. So it was all good clean fun this time! I recognise some of the names in this week’s list, which is always a treat, and again we have such a plethora of destinations that it will quench the thrist of even the heartiest armchair traveller.
To get in your inspiring travel post for the June edition, be sure to head for the submission form on BlogCarnival.com.
As you know, I also do quite a few interviews with travellers across the world and I’m looking for new interviewees. If you’d like to talk with me about your favourite travel adventures and share experiences with my readers, drop me a line and tell me a little bit about you.
And without further ado, let the roundup begin!

Welcome to the April 2009 edition of the Inspiring Travel Monthly Roundup. We launched the inaugural edition last month and the response since then has been nothing less than phenomenal. This month we received over 75 submissions, and that’s not including the entries from folk who didn’t follow the rules (only one submission per month) and excluding those entries that were off-topic (go away spammy marketers!). I’m not sure why they bother – your submissions just get deleted!
However, the quality of most entries is fantastic and I enjoyed quite the trip around the globe from the comfort of my sofa. I hope you do the same. It feels a bit like the ‘beach edition’ (which isn’t such a bad thing) with plenty of outdoor tribulations to ‘boot’ (pun intended).

Inspiring Travel Monthly Roundup – March Edition
Hello and welcome to the inaugural edition to the Inspiring Travel Monthly Round! This roundup is all about exploring the world for interesting and unique experiences – places that will inspire even the most un-intrepid armchair traveller to get out and see what is on offer. As most of you also know, I am an avid blog reader, so this is a great way for me (and thus you too!) to catch up on some of the new, interesting, and niche blogs out there.
As my first roundup, I was surprised to see the amount of interest generated, in both good and bad ways. Do the slimy internet marketers really think I’m going to post their latest get rich quick scheme on the roundup? Don’t worry, Mr. Marketer, I didn’t bother clicking on your links to check that perhaps you’d posted the wrong description.
I was also shocked with people who submitted multiple entries. Like, every blog post they’ve written in the past two months, travel related or not. What’s up with that? Give me the good stuff – the stuff that INSPIRES people. I don’t mind if a couple of posts go together in a series, but I don’t need your life history.
Ok, now I’ll get off my soapbox and start sharing the goods. We’ve got stuff from nearly all continents (a shame, Antarctica is not represented, but maybe next month – hint!) and all sorts of experiences. § Read the rest of this article…

As I’ve been exhausted in a travel rush to get back to Edinburgh for Hogmanay, one of the best places on earth to ring in the New Year (Nomadic Matt forgot to mention it on his list but Wandalulst did.). So instead of a post today I thought I’d share some of the travel tips and info I’ve gleaned on my laptop from airport WiFi across the globe. Happy Reading! § Read the rest of this article…
