Wow, you really did eat a lot in Austin, didn't you? I'm not a fan of Whole Foods' corporate policies, but the rest of this is going on my list for a future Austin trip!

Home Slice also has the best sandwich in town. Their Italian sub is drippy, delicious perfection.

Some good picks there. Next time you're in Austin, try out Ruby's BBQ near UT as well as East Side Show Room on E 6th, a relatively new place that, like Parkside, is doing some very innovative French-inspired cuisine.

Fabulous list! SO wish I'd had this post with us last year...Having missed the County Line, gotta give a shout-out to the incomparable Salt Lick BBQ in nearby Driftwood, TX (near the Lady Bird Johnson garden) and to Taste (202 W. Cesar Chavez), a lovely little wine bar with free tastings, across the street from the Bat Bridge. Great beet salad there! Next time you're headed there, sign up a farm dinner through Dai Due Supper Club to see what's truly local in Austin.

David - Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on Gueros. Thanks for the TLC suggestion - I'll look it up next time I'm in Austin.

Bill - yum, Fonda sounds awesome. And so do gingerbread pancakes (good hangover food?).

Megan, I was staying right next to Threadgill's and can't believe I didn't go. Next time!
