Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again – time for the inspiring travel monthly roundup.  It’s been a busy summer, both socially here in Edinburgh as well as on the articles – tons of great discussions and commentary ongoing.

This month appears to be the experience edition. Very fitting for the blog, no doubt, but this month (as it is nature that a theme emerges, unannounced, as you know) it seems that we have so many travel trips as experiences. So cool. Thank you, fellow writers. I am blessed.

We start out our tour in Dubai, of all places. Not content with Samar’s post, The Truth About Dubai, my fellow traveller Andy Geoghegan has a followup: Dubai – The Second Attempt. A worthy read indeed.

Kim is a regular face here in the Sharing Travel Experiences community and so I love to see her latest travels. This month it’s just next door to Dubai in Oman, which she calls A Little Piece of Heaven. Sounds good to me.

Then we had over to Asia where the China Sightseeing Blog has a Top 5 Must See China Sights. An excellent list if I do say so myself – thanks Terry!

Leave it to Liz from Extreme Telecommute to drop in with a post like this one: Travel is Good for your Wallet. A great one for those of you following our Location Independent Living developments. Thanks Liz.

If you planning on hitting Belgade anytime soon, then I highly suggest this Merkat Traveller piece of research on the hostels in Belgrade. It is probably the most thorough hostel post I’ve seen in some time!

I am a huge film buff so I loved this great post from Andrew from The Brooklyn Nomad about movies that make you want to travel. Whoot! Great films too. (I liked Under the Tuscan Sun too! :P )

Speaking of Under the Tuscan Sun, community regular (and previous interviewee) Shannon is doing just that – relaxing in tuscany. Seems like she’s having fun!

Rapav sent in an entry this month with his suggestion to go an experience New Zealand’s Fjordland. We all know how much I love it, so no need to convince me!

Our first photo essay roundup entry comes to us from The Eternal Voyageur with a great tour of Peru’s Arequipa, “The White City.” Bloody fantastic.

And now it’s road trip time! Join Henry and his friends on a tour of the South of Playa Samara in Costa Rica. Looks like fun.

This entry from Tripbase was one of my favourites – the 12 most magnificent lakes. Fantastic. I’ve been to three; how about you? (FYI – I would have added Lake Tahoe, to be honest. The lake-coloured turquoise drink on the ferry boat is tops!)

Wow…. If there is any post on this carnival you must read: The Rough Fractals Open Door Policy. This, folks, is what we call travel journalism. Read and learn.

Rachel (yes, another very good friend of ours in the community) seems to get around! :-) This month she’s on the west coast of Scotland on an island called Machair (if you can’t pronounce it – check the website :P ).

Emm shares her experience about one of my favourite places in the world: New York. Her story about the sights and sounds of Times Square took me back to a time when I spent a lot of time in the area. Wow. Amazing.

Rambling Brooke goes on tour… in Croatia. The Krka National Park seems like an idyllic (my cliché travel writing terminology, not hers) backdrop for a weekend of relaxing. Come on – the photo speaks for itself.

Hmmm… I’m not sure what to make of this one. It seems like quite the travel experience though: The road to the magic bus. Have a look and decide for yourself.

We wrap up (pun not intended) this month’s edition with a quick note about Skinny Dipping. Has it gone out of style or is it silently still en vogue. Weight in down in the comments.
