Inspiring Travel Monthly Roundup – September Edition
Hard to believe another month has gone and we find ourselves at blog roundup time. I’m hearing from my travelling friends across the world and it seems many of us are off having some fantastic adventures.
This month’s roundup theme appears to be the “roam the world” edition. We’ve got tips and inspiration from all corners of the earth. So go forth, read, and be inspired.
We start this month with the Global Guru’s Ditch the Routine – Get out there and explore. Fantastic article – what really bought it home for was the caption below the photo below, which was get out there and see the world through the eyes of a child again. How many of us need to do that? Thanks for sharing, Philip.

Along the lines of the above, if you need some ideas that won’t break the budget the Travel Tourism blog suggests 10 Cities to Visit on a Budget. Unfortunately they’re all in the USA, but all nice places nonetheless.

If you’re indeed on a budget and desperate for some Mickey Mouse time, then check out these Disneyland on the (Sort of) Cheap tips from Wisebread.
Leaving the American shores behind, we head quite far away to the Temples of Mynmar courtesy of my good friends Dave and Deb. Wonderful pictures of these temples, some of the least visited in Southeast Asia. A must-read!

While you’re in Mynmar, why not head over to Cambodia for some offbeat sightseeing courtesy of Voyagner? Some top tips in this article.

And don’t forget the temples of Mahabalipuram in South India – they are just as impressive, as you can see in this post from Pixelshots.

If all those temples didn’t inspire you enough, check out this wonderful article about how the folk at GotPassport got their Itchy feet to travel. If you’ve been thinking about a big trip or are having the post-trip blues, be sure to have a read through.

Escaping Australia brings us another great food for thought article: How To Not Let Fear Stop You Travelling. Love the personality described as a “Chripy” – just check it out for yourself….

If you don’t have itchy feet yet, then this post from Gone Further will do it: Adjusting to Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur. I think the picture just sums it up nicely.

An interesting post from Trustedadvisor waxes on the question: What August Teaches Us About Interdependencies. A good followup from Andy’s post about reflecting on travel experiences after the fact.

Rachel Cotterill is trying to give us a sample of everything possible in life with her very different posts every month. This month it’s Me, Art, and 41,000 LEDs! With a headline like that, how can you not read it?

And the inspiring libraries continue – I mentioned the Phoenix Library last month and this month Rebecca suggests the Salt Lake City Library. Check it out!

I couldn’t believe these pics when I saw them, but Admirable India has a great photo essay from Krishna’s Butter Ball. A bit of a silly name, indeed, but check out the size of that thing!

Sheila Scarborough continues our off-the-beaten-track path with a visit to the wonderful Thorncrown Chapel in rural Arkansas, USA. Very unique architecture and worth a visit to the Perceptive Travel blog to learn more.

And another photo essay from India: some *gorgeous* shots from Culture Shock’s trip for Guru Purnima. Stunning photos, Kristie!

Spending any time in London? Katie has suggested 12 Tacky but Terrific Things To Do. Only thing is – I wouldn’t say cream tea is tacky. It’s a way of life! Thanks for sharing Katie.
We end today’s round-up with a list of inspirational travel quotes.
Whew! What a great roundup of stuff. If you have a blog or online magazine and want to share one of your stories in next month’s edition, be sure to submit your entry by the end of this month — here’s the form. If you don’t have a blog but want to contribute, we always welcome guests – just get in touch.
