Paris, France

the peacefulness is disturbed only by the lone Christmas Tree
Ottawa, Canada

the colours are seasonal, but the Parliament in Ottawa is always festive
Brisbane, Australia

just because it’s warm doesn’t mean it can’t be festive
San Antonio, Texas, United States

It looks special, even without all the Christmas cheer
Athens, Greece

It might not be centuries old, but it’s still iconic
Toronto, Canada

What is it about Christmas lights at night that I just can’t get enough of?
Jena, Germany

We could have easily just done a Christmas photo essay of German Christmas markets!
Birmingham, England, United Kingdom

how charming!
Viseu, Portugal

gorgeous!
Dufferin Island, Niagara Falls, Canada

reminds me of our photo essay reflections, but Christmas-ised!
Zurich, Switzerland

that’s the Christmas spirit!

Ah…Hong Kong will always be Hong Kong
Jerusalem, Israel

Christmas in Jerusalem, of course

Fabulous! Thanks for sharing, it’s so interesting to see how Christmas is celebrated in different cultures, and I loved the theme of the lights. Did you know that in Bethlehem the post office is open Christmas Eve, so you can send anyone (even yourself) a postcard or letter stamped December 24th?
Thanks everyone – I did indeed have a good Christmas and hope you did too.
And Lisa, what a great idea – every country should do that.
I like the Paris photo the best
Me too, Matt…just because it’s simple yet elegant, perhaps?
