Playing for Change
In my world travels, I never cease to be impressed by the quality and caliber of street performers around the world. From the busker in New Zealand’s World Busker Festival to the singers in London’s Covent Garden to the unique displays in the subways of New York, street performance art is a part of the social fabric in many places world-wide.
That’s why I was so pleased to hear about the Playing for Change Foundation, an organisation helping to build music schools for communities in need. They’ll be releasing a CD in the spring 2009 which includes songs from performers in various cities.
