Jeanne - Thanks and congratulations are due to you as well for all your visibility and success in 2009. You will continue to shine in 2010 no doubt.

Meryl - Did you see our guest last week, Brian Peters? We mention his ebook which I am in the process of reviewing. It's a pretty excellent resource which you can self educate yourself in tips for travel on the cheap. Here's the link - we talk about the book about halfway down:

I feel overwhelmed at the sheer number of resources on cheap travel. What's a good resource to begin with?

Happy New Year, Andy! Congrats on your success & growth in 2009 and love your 2010 picks, especially Nepal!

Definitely a year of more travel for us. Our open ended family world tour since 2006 will spend 2010 traveling on 4 continents and adding another language to the mix!

Meryl- You'd be surprised at how cheap travel can be! We actually travel the world for MUCH less than living at home ...on just 23 dollars a day per person!

I think slow travel, extended travel, digital nomad/location independent based travel will be a huge trend this decade and continue to grow by leaps and bounds in 2010 thanks to 4HWW, tech and the economy.

Happy 2010!
When we are talking about culture travel I would add also as a top spot this year Poland & Chopin–themed tourist events because the 2010 Chopin Year has just set off http://chopin2010.pl/en

I think those are some pretty spot-on predictions. Definitely agree with Cuba, though I do have some concerns about what will happen to the country once the influx of not just American tourists, but American consumerism, descends (http://tinyurl.com/yenvlh7).

What about South Africa? World Cup action is gonna be off the chains...
