You use the words ‘fab’, ‘chic’, and ‘hip’ moreso than other other travel writer I know. What do these mean to you and how to do you incorporate them when you travel?

Oops, there’s no disguising what my favourite words are! Generally, I’m referring to places that represent the latest trends in understated style and are very much of the moment. Wherever possible I stay in places I have featured on the website, this can often mean taking advantage of promotional offers.

Is it possible to enjoy glam travel without breaking the budget? If so, how?

Absolutely! First, get an upgrade on your flight. Yeah right…it has only ever happened to me once. On a serious note there are a number of stylish hotels, restaurants, bars etc that don’t break the bank, it’s just knowing where to look. Check out Luxe For Less on Travel Notebook which has been designed to uncover stylish places to stay without having to sell a kidney.

I know you can’t say which is your favourite – Florence, Sydney, or New York. So why not give us your most inspiring and memorable tip for each place.

Florence
- Inspiring: The first time you come across the Duomo, breathtaking!
- Memorable: Walking along the Arno river at sunset.

Sydney
- Inspiring: Boat trip around the harbour as the sun sets.
- Memorable: Horse riding in the nearby Blue Mountains

New York
- Inspiring: Strolling around the city feeling like you’re on one big movie set.
- Memorable: Taking the subway to Brooklyn Heights, eating breakfast and walking back to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge.

About Lisa’s site…
With a passion for all things travel, I wanted to collect the best information available, hence the arrival of Travel Notebook. The notes are all designed to provide visitors with space to leave comments and personal reviews about places they have visited, giving further insight and recommendations for other stylish travel enthusiasts.

I second Lisa’s suggestions about New York, although I have to say my most memorable Sydney event was climbing the Harbour Bridge. Maybe that’s because it would never be possible here in the UK. *shrugs*

Love Lisa’s site, think it’s very inspiring.

Stylish travel is pretty elusive these days, with 2 young children in tow. But under Sydney opera house there is a really lovely bar with views of the Bridge. Sipping a large glass of white wine watching the boats sailing by stands out as a pretty glam moment….

Oh that does sound lovely. Especially on a sunny Australian day!
